Here are some suggestions for places to visit if you are a fire buff visiting.
Arlington Station 1 - Arlington is home of Texas Rangers Baseball, Six Flags, and soon the Dallas Cowboys, among other attractions.
Fort Worth Station 1&2 (downtown), 12 & 25 (stockyards area), 8 (hospital district), 35 (Alliance Airport/Texas Motor Speedway area)
Grapevine Station 1 (good variety of apparatus)
Irving Station 11 (good variety of apparatus)
Fort Worth Museum is housed in the historic Fire Station 1. “150 Years of Fort Worth” traces Fort Worth's development, from its beginning as a frontier outpost, through its rowdy youth as a cattle town, to present day.
Texas Fire Museum (great apparatus museum)
Firehouse Subs - These are starting to pop up in the area. It's a fire-themed sandwich deli decorated with local departments photos and memorbilia.
McAlister's Deli - There are a couple of these around that have photos from the local fire and police departments on the walls, and they make a darn good sandwich. The ones in North Richland Hills and Colleyville definitely have some photos up. I haven't tried all the other ones yet.
